Jeff Degenfelder, longtime Metroplex Marine and Marine F-4 pilot or RIO, a partner in CARSTENS, ALLEN & GOURLEY, LL

a patent law firm, and original member of the DFW MCAA Squadron is asking for first person sources to be interviewed by his fellow law partner (and former Army chopper pilot), who is writing a second book on American Aviation in the Vietnam war, specially the Marines who landed at Da Nang in March 1965. PLEASE CONTACT Colin Cahoon DIRECTLY ON HIS EMAIL ADDRESS OF cahoon@caglaw.com

Below are  Jeff’s  and Colin’s requests:

______________________________________________________________

One of our attorneys (Colin Cahoon) is working on a new book documenting the start of America’s active involvement in the Vietnam War.  This is a follow-on (actually it would be a prequel) to his well received, previously published book Mended Wings about Army helicopter pilots.  (see https://www.colinpcaho: :on.com/how-mended-wings-came-about) Colin would like to interview Marines that participated in the initial landing at Da Nang in March 1965 in order to get a first-person account of what it was like similar to his work in Mended Wings. I will copy Colin in on this email so you can contact him directly with any contacts.  Let me know if you have any additional questions.  Thanks for your assistance.

Semper Fi!

Colin’s additional request

I would also be grateful to talk with a Marine who has experienced an amphibious landing in an LVTP-5.  I know what it is like to ride in an APC, but as an Army guy, I have no experience with amphibious landing craft.

Colin

Best Regards,
Colin Cahoon
